I just "stumbled" upon an old issue of SWINDLE magazine I somehow overlooked, with 'The Germs" on the cover. Does anyone but me think this is wrong and creepy? Seems that actor Shane West, after portraying the dearly departed Germs singer Darby Crash in an insipid mockery of a biopic called "What We Do Is Secret", had been given the opportunity to join the re-united band. Man, I though the legacy of the Germs had sucked itself dry when freaking Pat Smear agreed to be on House Of Style with Cindy Crawford but this is just horrid - and SWINDLE a magazine, a rag that has been priding itself with staying edgey and somewhat underground, acknowledged this as real culture with a cover shoot? I guess I shouldn't be surprised. SWINDLE is based in LA. They just don't know any better that to be star-fuckers, even at the expense of their own cred - or what-ever's left of it. People please - keep punk true to itself. If it's not an ugly, cussing, puking, rage-filled, beautiful mess - IT IS NOT PUNK! So let it be written - SO LET IT ROCK!
